Broccoli Update!!!!

The broccoli is growing, the broccoli is growing.

One of my favorite vegetables are broccoli. Broccoli is a cold weather plant. They should be planted in late March or early April. When planting the broccoli space them approx. 18" apart. Bring the soil up around the base of the plant to help them stay strong.

If you see signs of caterpillar damage, small holes eaten from the leafs, you can dust them. Also you can put roofing paper around the trunk the prevent the insects from laying their eggs underneath. I am currently looking for a home-made remedy to kill those tiny little green worms that like to eat the broccoli heads. Maybe the tiny worms are extent this year. (Smile) Growing a garden is hard work but the yummy rewards are wonderful.
